I have to tell you how fascinated I was in the mixed response to my headstone contest.
*
Did it play on superstitions? Were there some who chose not to comment? Why? What was it? I'd love to know your thoughts on this if you are inclined to share (and don't worry about hurting my feelings...there are none attached to this little contest).

And, I want to say thanks to those who did participate. Be it thoughtful or silly - it was still fun (for me at least).
This is not a judged contest and the drawing is below. Still, I have to thank a few of you for making me laugh. One that really cracked me up was by Joyce Wolfley. She wrote: Lived for Love. Died for Spite.
*
I laughed for an hour at that one. Thanks, Joyce!
*
My husbands biggest laugh came from Windsong, who wrote: Get off the grass and keep the line moving. Too funny!
*
OK, on with the drawing.

Here are my oldest and middle darlings pulling the name.

And the winner is.....

Davin Malasarn! He also had a great comment. He wrote: Davin Malasarn. Listen and accepted. I really love that thought.
I am a happy follower of Davin's blog and doubt he needs plot help....he seems quite astute in literary matters. Keep it or pass it on, Davin. Whatever works is fine. Congratulations! If you will e mail your preferred mailing address to tesshilmo(at)comcast(dot)net I will pop that book in the mail.

Happy Monday to all!

Congrats, Davin! :D
Glad you liked it, Tess. Of course my real headstone would be quite boring. Congrats to Davin!
Congratulations to Davin! Is it wrong that I loved that little contest?
I'm still creeped out, but I do love some of the entries. Guess maybe I'm more superstitious than I thought? Also I've learned that I have no idea how to spell superstitious. Off to a good start this Monday.
I loved the contest! It was fun, reading all of the comments. Congrats Davin! :)
Dang, I missed a great contest. Sorry, would have loved to have played. Sigh. Just my luck that I failed to catch up on my blog reading this weekend. Oh, well, there's always next time . .
Great contest, btw, and yes, a little creepy as well. : )

Congrats!!! Great contest!
I'm thrilled! Thanks so much, Tess! And, I guess I should thank the random forces of nature too. :) Plot is not my strong point by any means, so I'm really looking forward to reading the book.
Congratulations to Davin. This sounds like it was a a great contest and a lot of fun, sorry I missed it. I'm keeping up now, though (hope nothing happens to side-track me). Have a good week.
Congrats, Davin!! Great contest! Lots of fun!
Okay, Tess, I have to confess (rhyme not intentional, btw!), I may have been a tad superstitious about writing my headstone. I was really thinking of something to write, but the more I thought the sadder I got. I mean, I know we all have to leave this earth some day . . . I don't know, I just couldn't bring myself to write it. It's weird, I guess, because I could have written something funny or whatever . . . Sigh. And that was a great book to contend for, too!
Cool contest! Congrats Davin! LOL
Congrats to Davin! And some of those were so hilarious. Loved it!
Thanks for your honesty and comments. I guess it could be seen as grim. I had recently read Neil Gaiman's 'The Graveyard Book' so that lets you know where my mind was, lol.
Congrats Davin!!!!!!
