Holy Cow!

My 2k11 pal, Kiki Hamilton (who wrote the amazing book The Faerie Ring) sent me this picture from NCTE today...
.
.
Holy Cow! Now here's the funny part... I am such a newbie, I have no idea what or where NCTE is! But it's nice to know my publisher is celebrating the novel.

someone asked what those stars were so, at the risk of sounding pompous, I'm sharing the rundown:

School Library Journal Best Book of 2011 list
School Library Journal starred review
Booklist starred review
Kirkus starred review

Hooray for Ollie and her family, making their way in this world.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I don't know what NCTE stands for either. BUT, OMGoodness that is so cool! All those stars. (I'm not going to say, "I told you so.")

She's at the annual National Council of Teachers of English convention (in Chicago, this year, I think). I'm sure there's an entire hall of vendors set up displaying textbooks, software, and other teaching products. Next year, they'll invite you to SPEAK in the one of the break-out sessions! I used to go to the IRA Convention (International Reading Association) -- I'm sure your book will be on display there, too.

I knew NCTE, also, but see that someone else explained it. Your book is being highlighted at a great place. I've never been to a convention, but I did teach English for a while. Maybe some of the teachers will want it for a classroom book!

(I don't like the new look of blogger, either. It used to leave Home at the top. Now, I have to scroll back up to it. Also, it's harder to read how many posts I've missed, etc.)
