* So I ran my series on making a book trailer and am thankful for all of you who peeked or commented
but, alas it seems no one followed the series and actually made their own or at least, no one reported back to me that they did
that's okay
the info is out there and that's a good thing
This week I'm off to New York City for my oldest daughters sweet 16.... it's three generations of girls all going to enjoy the theater and museums and buzz of that amazing place. I'll also get to meet my super talented editor, Margaret Ferguson at FSG and caring agent, Steven Chudney.
That's the stuff of dreams
You know, just two short years ago I was unagented, unsold and wondering if I would ever reach that elusive dream of publication.
It's a reminder to believe in our dreams and never
never
give up

Don't worry, Tess! I will be making a trailer, but not until it gets closer to pub date...I'm about 2 years off! I do appreciate all of your tips!
Shelley
I appreciate your tips too, but I'm still working out the details of the story in the rewrites, so...
Have a blast in NYC. Enjoy the shows. That and the food are my favorite parts of being there. One of the most amazing things I saw the last time we were there was the scenery for the opera we went to at the Met. Absolutely incredible. Stunning in fact. The voices weren't bad either. Heehee.
Enjoy NY! That's definitely a dream come true :)
Sorry, I would've done a trailer if I had a book for which to do one. :) Hopefully someday!
Have a great time in NYC. That sounds amazing!!
Amy
Aw, it's okay. Don't be sorry, friends. I'm still glad I put it out there because they are a bugger to figure out (unless you're a techy) and I think it might help someone someday. I'll put it on my sidebar, I think.
And, I will have fun in NY...if the bed bugs don't bite :o
I'm not ready for a book trailer, but it's awesome of you to give instructions on how to do it - please put the info on your side bar and I'm sure I'll use the info later.
Awesome that you get to enjoy NY with your daughter - can't believe you have a 16yo - hope you have a fab time. Bed bugs - so nasty.
Yay for an awesome birthday in NY! What an awesome opportunity! I'm jealous! How cool that you'll meet your agent as well!!
You are hope for the unpublished and I love you for it!
For total fun! I wish I were going with you!!!!
Thanks for the reminder, and have fun in New York!
I'm just not quite ready to make a book trailer, Tess.
Thanks for the never give up reminder!!! So true. And, have a great time in NYC!
So exciting for your daughter to get to celebrate a sweet 16 in the Big Apple!
And for you to meet your editor! Woohoo!
Oh Tess! How exciting you'll get to meet your editor. That so seldom happens.
Have a great time with your family and be careful!
Your tips were fantastic, but I'm not quite ready to make one of my own yet. Have a great time with your daughter!
Thank you for the reminder!
Btw--love this layout! I LOVE bright colors!
Tess, you make me smile! Have a great time in NY! I hope your daughter has a great 16th (my son just turned 16...the driving is scaring me). I would love to make a trailer as soon as I get that agent. But your my reference girl. Thanks for all you did. =D
Aww, people will definitely find your posts helpful, are you kidding? You even used me as an example and I have still come over here looking at your suggestions!
And yay for never giving up! My dreams are finally coming true, too, and it's just amazing and worth all that work and waiting. :)
Have a wonderful trip! There's nothing in the world like NYC, and thanks for the encouragement - I hope someday it will happen for me, but I'm thrilled that YOU are living your dream, girl!

Awww, Tess...I hope you guys have an awesome time in NYC! I'm so excited that your dreams are coming true. :-)
Many of us aren't ready yet to make a trailer...but we know where to find the information and the GREAT instruction when we get to that point. (fingers are crossed that we'll all get there soon)
Have fun...Be safe...Don't eat the free candy!
You did a killer job on the trailer, Tess! I promise I'll rob your archives as soon as I make my own trailer. =]
Happy Birthday to your sweet-16! Hope you have the greatest time in NY!
P.S. Thanks for the uplifting and inspiring message. I wonder where I'll be in a year.
Thank you for this honest reminder, Tess.
Happy Birthday to your daughter! I hope NYC is wonderful for all of you. :)
Tess:
Have a WONDERFUL time! There is no place like NYC.
No, no, no, my computer got a virus from FB and I lost EVERYTHING. Even my family pics. But I have my trailer almost ready for you to check. I will finish it this week. I hope you had fun in New York. You lucky duck. :)
Happy birthday to your precious daughter. :)
Have a great time in NY - sounds like an exciting trip!
Your NY trip sounds so great. That would be my kind of celebration as well. I didn't make a book trailer because I don't have a book to promote. However, I am sold on the idea of making one when the time comes. Thanks for all your efforts to educate us. Can't wait to read your book.
It's wonderful that you're a living reminder that one must believe in, and follow one's dreams. You're a great example and inspiration. Congrats on your success!
Tess, I have this series bookmarked for the day I create a trailer. I really appreciate the clear directions.
Have an amazing time in NY!!
