Onward...

*
I was going to do a post about what it means for us as writers to create a brand, but I'll save that for another day and give an update on the home writing front.
*
Yesterday the one week exclusive came and went and I was starting to feel a tiny, teency, itty bit worried that the agent who requested same wasn't so interested.

THEN I found this post over at Call My Agent!. (loved his line 'it takes me three weeks just to get back to myself')

It helped.

Deep breath, Tess. Dont' be neurotic.

So, today I will send out the two fulls that were waiting for the exclusive to be over. I will adjust my expectations to meet the realities of the publishing world (again) and I will remind myself that I am blessed to be in this predicament.

It's the part about adjusting your expectations to match the realities of the publishing world that is so hard. I don't expect overnight results but this month after month after month thing is a challenge!

You are right, Jeannie. And, you'll get there :-). I love your blog and want to do a post on character therapy....I can see myself becoming addicted to those therapy sessions.

You gave an agent a one WEEK exclusive!?? You are a tough woman! Keep those agents stepping and fetching. :)

Amy, you make me laugh :). It's what she asked for and who was I to say, "excuse me, don't you mean two weeks....or three, perhaps?".

Really, it's all good stuff.

And, do you mind if I post a link to your marketing magic post? It would be for the post I'm working up on building a brand.

I followed you over here from Jenn's blog because your name is Tess and my MC is Tess. And your book With a Name Like Love...I saw the query on the last Secret Agent contest. Weren't you one of the finalists? Anyway, congratulations on the full requests. Very exciting.

Welcome, Jessie! I tried to link over to your blog but it was invite only and I wasn't sure what to do with that. How cool that your MC is Tess :) And, yes - I was in the MSFV secret agent contest - got an invite to query/10 pages...but I have to say that I have never recv'd a response from that agent. Not sure if he read it or not??? Such is the way it goes, eh?

Thanks for coming over. I'd love to see what you are doing over on your blog...
