Super Mega Awesome Launch Week Giveaway!

Someone pinch me because I feel like I'm dreaming....

can tomorrow really be launch day for With a Name Like Love?

Holy Moses!
Nine years of conferences....three completed novels....four or five partially completed novels in addition to those three....two years since the contract was signed....

this journey is not for the impatient!

In celebration of the launch, I am having a super mega awesome giveaway!

What's up for grabs, you say?

Excellent question!

One prize
for a blogging pal and one prize for a library or classroom (gifted in your name).

Important!
Here is how it will work: I'll draw random names from the list of those who leave comments on this post. If you are pulled for the blogging pal prize - hooray! you get to keep the loot! If you are pulled for the library or classroom prize - I'll mail it to the library or classroom of your choice in your name.
contest runs all week - prize winners will be drawn at random Saturday October 1st.

How fun is that?

Now for the prizes:

Blogging Pal Prize Pack:
Signed copy of WITH A NAME LIKE LOVE, bookmarks, a Life is Good brand hat and stickers and a $50.00 Amazon book gift certificate to load up on some fun fall reads.

Library/Classroom Prize Pack:
again, if you win this, I will mail it to your favorite teacher or librarian in your name (they're gonna love you for that!) It includes: a signed copy of WITH A NAME LIKE LOVE, bookmarks and three of my favorite middle grade debut books of the year to date: VANISHED by Sheela Chari, THE YEAR WE WERE FAMOUS by Carole Estby Dagg and SPARROW ROAD by Sheila O'Connor. All really wonderful reads and perfect for any classroom or library.

--sorry, the library/classroom pack will only be available in the United States due to shipping issues.

**I pondered asking for tweets or fb mentions for extra entries but sometimes that gets a little much so, if you feel like celebrating with me, please spread the fun news.

My heart is so tied to this dear novel and I sincerely want to give it a good push out there into the world. Every little bit of sharing the word helps!

Question:
I've got kiddos homework, music lessons and a day job all taking up my Tuesday...what are some ideas for a quick and easy but still fun way to celebrate my launch day? I'm at a loss!
.

Yay! It's finally here! I remember when you announced that you'd sold your book. Congratulations a thousand times over.

I can't imagine all you'll want to do Tuesday, but I'd take five minutes to just stop, and make sure you delight in the moment. It seems that we're so often looking ahead that the now can slip by. Make sure you catch a bit of such a special day by the tail.

I'm so happy for you!

Congratulations Tess! This is such super news!!

I think if I had such a full schedule for something so important, Pizza and ice cream would be on the agenda. Have a great day, no matter what you do.

Ice cream, for sure. Or cake. A big heart-shaped cake! Oh, congrats. I love reading about your journey. I've already won a prize and can't wait for my copy to arrive in the mail. So excited to support YOU!

I am incredibly thrilled for you! Since I've already won a copy, I'll consider myself ineligible for the first prize, but the library prize pack would be awesome. I'll tweet about it this morning to help spread the word.

How did I forget that your book launched this week? I'm fairly certain it even made it into my month's book list post.

Chipotle.

That is how you celebrate.

Robyn Campbell said...

Ben and Jerry's, of course. And wine. :-)

So happy for you, my pal. You know that.

I can't wait! (((squeezing you))) XOXO

What wonderful prizes. I can't wait to see your book out in the world, either, and I can think of a perfect teacher if I should win that one.
I'll raise a toast to you Tuesday (or eat Ben & Jerry's as Robyn suggested). Maybe you should fill your house with flowers, balloons, cupcakes, whatever makes you smile so that all day you're surrounded by that bit of joy.

Yay, Tess! I'm so excited for you!! I love that you have to fit your book launch into your busy life! Yes, treat yourself to your favorite food/ dessert. And just have a moment to toast your family at the dinner table. Hooray for you!

Why you go to a bookstore and take a picture in front of your book on the shelf! Then eat a fabulous meal with your favorite beverage and don't forget the dessert.

I love your cover by the way, and I'm a new agency mate :0). We'll tweet your contest.

Oh, yay! Tess, I am 99% sure I pre-ordered, but if it doesn't come today, I will check my Amazon records!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY!

Congrats on your book coming out today!

Congrats, Tess - this is so exciting!!! I'm sure you have a totally busy day, but I really think this event calls for dinner out. You shouldn't be cooking or doing dishes on your big day. Even it you can't make it out the door until 9pm, you have to celebrate!!!

superpaige said...

Oh MY HECK!!!! Congratulations!!! Dinner out sounds good. Or maybe a good friend will bring you treats. No promises, but maybe.

You are awesome!

Wandered over here from Amy Sonnichsen's blog. Who doesn't love a good, ol' Southern murder mystery? :) Count me in for the blogging pal prize pack, and huge, huge congratulations!

Faith E. Hough said...

Yay! I CAN'T WAIT to read this! Actually, literally. I already ordered my copy. But if I win one here I already know several awesome readers who I would love to share it with. :)
CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations!! I'm so excited to read this and both your prizes are just AMAZING.

Do you like bowling? Or maybe the fam can treat you to ice cream/fro-yo/boba if you're from where I'm from (LA/NYC).

Tuesday nights are cheap-y movie nights at our local Regals too!

Janet Johnson said...

I found you at Amy Sonnichsen's blog, too. What a fun idea for a way to celebrate!

Congratulations on your book birthday!

Hmmm . . . to celebrate with kids? Turn the music up loud and dance with them. :) Even better if the music is reminiscent of your book.

Vijaya said...

Please enter me in your contest, Tess.

As for celebrating when you're super busy -- I'd order in a good chicken tikka masala from a local restaurant. If that's not possible, how about pizza and root beer floats?

Vijaya said...

Oh, and I forgot the most important part -- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
God bless you.

p&k said...

I'd love to enter!

And Congratulations--any way you celebrate! (I'm all for reading your favorite passages aloud to your kids, after a fun recount of your journey to being published! Can you gift them each with their own signed copy from mom for their personal bookshelf or nightstand? Not that you shouldn't eat something yummy too!)

J.A. Palermo said...

Oh, Tess -- I think you get to celebrate the whole week.

And it's the perfect time to buy one of those chocolate fountain thingies!!!!!

Just stopping in to say hello and congrats again.

I am SO excited for you Tess. You totally deserve this. On launch day, I vote you stop for ice cream, maybe eat dinner out (or order take out), and buy yourself something special.

Happy celebrating!

Hi Tess! Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS again! Still can't wait to read your book! You know I wish you all the best & really wish I could attend your book party you mentioned on FB . . . but I'll be there in spirit!

Oh yes, I just did a blog post (my 1st in a long, long time!) & mentioned your book along with another contest I found that's giving away TWO COPIES of your book! :)

These suggestions have been a great help this week. Thanks for weighing in and thanks for all of the really kind wishes. The Children's Lit community never ceases to amaze me with their generosity of spirit! Or, as my 10 year old would say, "you guys rock!"
