Gratitude, A Report and A Giggle

*
Gratitude: a sincere thanks to all who helped encourage me yesterday. I felt so buoyed up by your words and positive direction.

A Report: I'm a chicken by nature, but was given courage by your good advice to address this matter, so I mustered some strength and had that gentle discussion with my friend last night. It was uncomfortable and a little painful, but I couched my words in love and, in the end, it turned out better than expected. Thank you all for the good advice. We can stand up for our work/selves and still be kind. It was a good lesson for me.

A giggle: Man, I need to lighten things up around here! So, this is a cartoon my daughter drew and the caption is an old writers joke. It's good for a giggle :D

Caption:
We're still pretty far apart. I'm at six figures and they're refusing to read the manuscript.

Happy Thursday, all!

Hi Tess - I'm glad it all worked out with your friend. Better to be honest than to let things fester (even though it's hard to do!) And thanks for the giggle - much appreciated!

Good for you! Never let things fester, although I don't generally couch my words with love, I let them all hang out! Cute giggle!

I'm glad it all worked out for you, and hopefully for your friend as well. Perhaps they didn't realise they were doing it, but whatever the reason, a good chat about it can always help clear the air and set things straight. Gosh, am cliché-ing like crazy! The writer joke made me chuckle. :)

It's really hard for me, too, when it comes to anything confrontational, but sometimes it clears the air and everyone breathes better. I'm so glad it worked out.
That cartoon drawing is so cute--your daughter caught the body language perfectly!

The great thing about blogosphere: You ask for an itty-bitty-tiny bit of advice, and answers come swarming back 100-fold, huh? Isn't it amazing?

I'm glad things worked out for you. Thanks for sharing the giggle.

I'm also glad I'm not the only crazy one with the socks on and socks off thing!!!

Wow, I'm impressed by your artist daughter. She really captured the details -- even the martinis! :) Their facial expressions are perfect, too.

BTW, I gave you a Prolific Blogger Award, if you'd like to accept it!

Have a great day, Tess, and thanks for the great blog. :)

Oh, I'm glad you put things out there. I avoid conflict at all costs, but I think what you did is really important. Whoever said honesty is the best policy knows what they're talking about. I hope you feel better!

Glad the talk went well (phew!).

PS: Happy Easter!
PPS: Are you attending LDStorymakers later this month? Forgive me if I've already asked (my memory is awful these days).

Hey, I your daughter is very talented! And I'm glad to hear things worked out with your friend. Sounds like you grabbed the reins and pulled Karma back into your favor. Happy Monday!

Whew. Honesty is the best policy. But I was really sweating that for you. (I hate confrontation. Unless it involves my kids, then dukes up.) Hope you had a great Easter. ;)
