Monday Melange of Me

*
This is me and my family signing the contract for With A Name Like Love. It even had the ISBN number assigned and notated - how amazing is that??? I laughed and then cried and then shook my head in disbelief. It was surreal to see my name on that contract.
I'm telling you. Absolutely surreal. (for any new writing pals, it sold to Farrar, Straus & Giroux/Macmillan - release date Fall 2011)

And then this was the view from my kitchen window Saturday morning. I took this shot standing over my sink.

I'm not a big winter girl, having been born and raised in sunny So Calif, but mornings like this take my breath away.

So, that was my weekend. Tell me...how did you spend yours?

Happy times. I'll meet you there--one day my friend. Meanwhile, know I'm with you in spirit. I am truly doing the happy dance with you. (^_^)

If that were my view in winter, I'd love it! But, I just get fields covered in snow for five months.

This weekend I read quite a bit and received a few critiques, which I have yet to fully read and grasp.

O, duh, CONGRATS!, btw.

Your weekend sounds tough to beat! A sunrise like that?! ;)

Me? I saw a terrible movie, had a nice lunch with my older sister, and had a lazy Sunday with my family. Pretty good weekend, too.

My weekend went rather well. Some peace and quiet for dull reading, a nice movie, and the start of an interesting book.

Congratulations, Tess! Such an exciting time for you. We spent the weekend hunkered down at home, waiting out the blizzard, periodically shoveling and cooking, reading, and knitting.

This is fabulous! What excitement and to have your children around you while signing it, says so much to me as a mama and aspiring writer.

You are a strong, lovely example to me. As are those purple mountains.

Oh, and how did I spend MY weekend? Well, nothing quite as exciting as yours (yet!) . . . just got an entry ready for one of the contests I blogged about recently, revised the MG wip some more, thought about doing a trailer, and . . . got my hair done. :) :) :)

Congratulations, Tess! I'm sure this was the culmination of a long journey.

I spent the weekend in Maine to visit my father, sledding, eating comfort food, and watching "Up". While I didn't sign any contracts, I didn't get any rejections either.
