Deep Thoughts on a Friday

*
Who out there remembers Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey?

you know, Saturday Night Live, circa 1990...

Those who do will get this. Those who don't will think I'm insane. Oh well, here goes :D

Deep Thoughts...
by Jack Handey

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself.

Mankind.

Basically, it is made up of two separate words

"mank" and "ind".

What do these words mean?

It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

happy weekend! remember to laugh, be silly and maybe even take a nap

Planning on all kinds of silliness. You have a great weekend too. And, by the way, I so get it.

I loved deep thoughts, and that one is especially good.

I loved Jack Handy!
I vow to be silly at least once a day over the weekend. My kids will appreciate that :)

I love Jack Handey thoughts. Now if only you could get his soothing voice to play while we read those thoughts.

Thanks. You made me smile!

Very nice. I like to pull these on my husband every so often to make him really scratch his head in wonder to why he married me. :D

I remember Jack Handy! So funny! And I have a coupon for an undisturbed nap and I'm using it this weekend. Maybe twice. :)

I liked the "You know what really hurts?"
pieces.... Like and ice pick in the ear, yeah, that hurts.

Thanks for making me smile in spite of Blue's death. I'm glad I stopped by. Are you unplugging next week? I know I am, that's for sure. Talk to you then.

I heart Jack Handy! Too fun. And tomorrow we're off to the spa. To say that I'm excited is a HUGE understatement.

It's been ages since I've thought about Jack Handey. Thanks for the reminder. And I actually did laugh out loud!

Thanks for a chuckle this morning! It's sad that I need to be reminded to laugh and be silly, but sometimes I do! So thanks!

I love love love Jack Handey! Back in college, I bought a book of his quotes and read it to pieces, laughing myself sick. Where did that book go, I've got to find it now!

I love the one about the clown (how it killed his dad), the burrito & God, and the shark trampling & eating everything in site. **I'm so with you on this stuff! :)**

PS: I posted a "Deep thoughts" series awhile back on my blog, making up what I thought were my own, brilliant (read: probably more dull than anything) Jack Handey quotes.

So, so funny. I'm going to remember this one! (I always say that and never do.)

Loooove those deep thoughts. A friend of mine uses them on her answering machine - a new one each day. People call her machine just to hear the new thought each day. The problem is she comes home each day and has a machine full of hang-ups.

Thanks for sharing!

I LOVE Jack Handey. One of my favorite's of all time is "The face of a child can say everything, especially the mouth part of the face."

Okay, I'm cracking up just typing it.

Huh?!

Guess you can see I don't get it. Oh well, what's new...there's a lot of things I don't get. LOL

Your post is very interesting though.
