An Oops and A Giggle

caption: He's very disciplined about his writing. Three hours of staring at a blank screen every morning and five in the afternoon.

Oops. I must apologize. I had plans for a Friday give away of a super-cool-writerly-must-have-item but the Labor Day weekend has put a snag in the retrieval plans.

It's all good. We've had a few give aways as of late, so I'm hoping a giggle will do.

This weekend will find me going to a baseball game w/ friends, watching football and emptying out the basement because we are finally going to start finishing it off.

Tell me, what are your plans?

I'm not sure. It's the first weekend in a long time that we haven't had a zillion things to do. Maybe I'll write!

yet another little revision for the WIP and then I'd love to write some shiny new words. Aside from that we have the air show on Sunday, shopping tomorrow and my parent's house for a bbq on Monday. Enjoy the long weekend!

Ha ha! I'm going to relax. Well, and my husband informed me we're having a party for a football game. So I'm sure I'll clean, shop, cook and clean some more.

BJ: you're an editing fiend as of late - good for you!!

Lazy: how come I feel like I'm insulting you when I write that? hhahahaha...hope you get a rest in and maybe some nachos!

Scott: Wicked? How very, very AWESOME. have fun, friend...I know you will...

Lisa/Laura: can I call you LiLa? Have fun and not too much potato salad at that bbq. You might have a cover photo shoot coming up soon :)

PJ: Cub Scouts? I'm a Webelos leader!!!! I knew I liked you.

Martin: glad you got a giggle. Hope you have a great weekend, too.

Elana: relax? Psha! Not likely if you're hosting. I'll be doing the same here and thinking of you while I'm scraping the ketchup up off the carpet.

I totally forgot, until I read this, that it was labor day weekend. What does that say? HMMMM? WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU? ;)

That cartoon is hilarious! Good luck with the basement ... we'll be playing catch-up on all the stuff we need to do and get before school starts on Tuesday! :-)

Suzanne: Oy! That tells me you are one busy lady! And, that you NEED this holiday. Nap, snack, hang out with family...

Michelle: Nope. Vegging is an excellent and viable option :)

Kelly: Yes, the back to school last minute run arounds...good luck! And, glad you laughed :D

That's right, it's a long weekend! I don't know why I forget these things. More revising for me. Maybe a stint in the garden doing whatever it is that needs doing. Have fun in the basement!

No specific plans for the weekend. We might wind up at a neighborhood BBQ or just chillin' out with friends.

Love the cartoon! Hilarious! No big plans here. Just a couple of get together with friends. My DD's are putting on a play that they wrote together with a friend. So, my budding actresses and writers are tickling me happy!

MG: When you get done with your garden, do you want to come and work in mine? I'm tired of the weeds.

Sherrie: now that sounds fun!

FictionGroupie: very cool...people are doing fun stuff this weekend.

Liana: it's the cilling I like best of all :)

Diane: the last hurrah of summer...hurrah!

Jody: how wonderful that sounds!

Editing. Query week starts on Monday. Buffing and shining one last time before I "put it out there". Enjoy the holiday!

Thanks for the chuckle. That COULD be me! :) I'll be writing and doing some MUCH needed yard work. I have neglected the farm this summer, doing only what HAD to be done. No more. Gotta get out and do it. I remember after I finished Seventy Two Hours, I got out and realized trees were growing in my flower beds. Edits had kept me in doors. So I got out and weeded everything that day. When my hubby came home that evening he said, "welcome back, " Funny huh? Happy Labor Day!! :)

Great cartoon. I'm housesitting tonight. And dogsitting. And horse sitting.

Kristen: sounds good to me - the weather will be getting cold soon enough so we might as well enjoy the sun while it is here, right?

Karen Amanda: good luck getting it all shined up - good news coming your way soon I just know it!

Robyn: that is a funny story. I think my hubby feels that way from time to time as well.

MissP: Really? I bet they are super cool friends...super, super cool.

LT: that made me giggle. I imagine you on a horse, holding a dog, in a livingroom :)

Have a great time. That's exciting getting stuff like that done at your house. I just had shelves put in my garage, and I love them. I'm in the process of boxing and labeling everything and putting them on the shelves. This weekend though I'm thinking I'll be doing some cooking.

Hot air ballons, swimming, and eating.

Happy weekend to you!

Going shopping with the kids on Saturday for a few school clothes; my husband may BBQ on Sunday; & Monday I'll be resting up (I think) for Tuesday, which is the 1st day back to school for my daughters, who are both going to new schools this year (my youngest to 1st grade & my oldest is starting 5th grade at the middle school). So I'm anticipating a lot of anxiousness Monday night . . .

Love the cartoon! :-) Enjoy your weekend. Aside from a birthday party, I just plan to rest, and it's much-needed.

Tess said...

lotusgirl - will you come organize my garage next ;) pretty please??

Anita - hot air balloons, seriously? very cool!

Crystal - oh those back to school jitters, I know them. My oldest started at a new school this year so I can relate to how we, as moms, get anxious for them. They'll do great!

Anna - the best kind of weekend, indeed.
